When the viewer is scanning, he or she is actually giving up some of the control over his or her privacy. In the age of the Internet, the creation of virtual identities has long been a common practice, and the process of scanning emphasizes the connection and physicality of the virtualization.
Models are scanned into our constructed space and left to float and sink as time and the rest of the model pushes against them. The virtual identities in the space are no longer influenced by the real world, but have their own set of natural laws.
These digital footprints, limited by the screen, are slowly displaced into the unknown, still existing in space, but forgotten in a state of ambiguity between existence and non-existence, in the face of massive data and rapid updating.
